Introduction
Research Question: How can we make the MBTA (Boston's Public Transportation System) better by increasing the accessibility of information.
The Audience
College Students & Daily Commuters: People who need to travel frequently who do not have a private mode of transportation. College students is an ideal target segment because they take the T (what Bostonian's call their train and subway) every time they want to travel on or off campus. Especially for those who do not have a lot of experience or knowledge about the T, they can get access to services and information related to the T easily through the app. Daily commuters or people who use the T to commute to work can find this app useful because it will give real time updates on delays, traffic, rush hour, as well as information on any unexpected events/accidents. This app also provides users a feature where they can report about any concerns they have with the transportation system.
The Problem
A function that the current MBTA system lacks is an efficient and convenient way for commuters to refill their Charlie Card. This app provides a digital means for users to purchase or refill their cards via the Charlie Wallet within the app as well as a way for them to use a digital card version. This feature will allow for a contactless method to pay for MBTA commuter fares.
